Super fast robot ants are a breakthrough scientific invention! This army of robo-ants that can climb walls and even build things has been created by researchers in the US...and you will not believe how fast they can move!

The swarm of ants, named "Magnetically Actuated Micro-Robots", consists of 2mm ants that can be individually controlled using a central computer. They were designed to build tiny things on tiny scales, like electrical circuits or artificial cell structures.

Despite their size, each ant's movements can be controlled individually by using magnets on a circuit board. They can move rapidly on curved surfaces, up and down walls, and also on flexible materials in any direction.

In addition to climbing, these tiny robots have already built a 30 cm (11.8 inches) tall tower from carbon rods. They can also work with wood, metal, and glass, as well as electronic components.

One of their most impressive features is that they can move at super speeds in comparison to their size. How fast exactly? The robo-ants have clocked in at about 35 cm (13.7 inches) per second. That's the equivalent of a human running slightly under the speed of sound, or mach 1.

A British and Asian-based design firm has just come up with designs of the "Floating City" of the future. This self-sufficient, Water World-like society comes complete with farms, docks, canals, a hotel, entertainment complex, and a floating stadium for sports.

The metropolis is comprised of hexagonal and triangular modules that are separated above water with a series of canals for eco-friendly transportation. At the same time, the island is connected below the water with a series of walkways, roads, and tunnels for both pedestrians and electric cars.

Once approved, the world-class, self-sufficient eco-colony would be built about 31 miles off the coast of Hong Kong, near Macau, and is about 10 square kilometers in size. It would serve as both a residential community and tourist destination alike in which transportation to and from Hong Kong will be provided through cruise ships.

The mysterious planet has been named Kepler-186f and stands about 1.1 times the size of Earth. It orbits around the red dwarf star Kepler-186.

Why is this considered the first habitable planet discovered outside of Earth? Well, habitable zones--also known as "Goldilocks Zones"--are regions around a star where the temperature is just right for water to form.

Kepler-186f has been a breakthrough discovery because it's the first Earth-sized planet that's been found in a Goldilocks Zone. This means that it holds just the right conditions for liquid water to exist on its surface. Therefore, it may very well be able to host alien life.

So how far away is Kepler-186f? If you guessed B, you're right! Kepler 186f is only 490 lightyears away from Earth. While the planet is a prime candidate for being a world with oceans and seas, the question of whether or not it holds alien life forms still remains a mystery.
